This project consisted of a full structural condition assessment and the complete structural renovation of this historic dairy barn in Whidbey Island, Washington for the National Park Service. The barn was restored architecturally and structurally bringing the barn back to its original appearance. A full structural analysis was completed, which included lateral design, wind and seismic forces, and bracing details to resist those forces. The structurally deteriorated members were replaced and the new members are woven into the historic fabric of the structure. Load calculations were also completed to give the owner a load capacity for the hay loft.
